Session 1: Exploring Microsoft Fabricโ€™s uncharted waters

Presenters: Lou Segers & Bo Vande Sompele

Hello Microsoft Fabric! Microsoft's shiniest & brightest flagship set sail a few months by now.โ€‹

In this session:

๐Ÿ‘‰ we'll first navigate you through the uncharted waters of OneLake, explore the depths of lakehouses and warehouses, and stop by some of the dataflows along our journey.โ€‹

๐Ÿ‘‰ Next, we'll see how valuable insights pop up above the horizon whether we're floating on Import, DirectQuery or a DirectLake.โ€‹

๐Ÿ‘‰ To sum it all up: We'll dive into the different components Microsoft Fabric has to offer, going knee-deep in the whole process from ingesting data to serving it to your end users. So come and join us, the water is just great!

Session 2: Databricks & Fabric: 1 + 1 = 3

Presenter: Sander Allert

Data Engineers and Data Scientists behold a new kid on the block called 'Fabric'. We will look at how DataBricks is enabling even more business users throughout our data landscape within and outside of the organization through the use of Fabric. Let's take a moment to think about what a mature data analytics environment looks like in five years.

In this session:

๐Ÿ‘‰ This session will explain the Data Engineering concepts of a Big Data tool (Spark) and why DataBricks is (has been and will be) leading Data Engineering/Science teams to success.

๐Ÿ‘‰ We will then be exploring why people are looking forward to working with Fabric and why is it accelerating data trajectories.

๐Ÿ‘‰ We'll then see how both tools complement one another from a technical as well as a process perspective.
