Meet the team: Wiebe🚀

Meet Wiebe

I'm Wiebe, a 25-year-old with two years of experience in data. Before starting my career, I studied Business Engineering at the University of Leuven. During my studies, I was particularly drawn to data science courses, which sparked my interest in the field and led me to pursue a job in it.

In my free time, I enjoy staying active. I cycle, play padel, and go running. I also try to read more books.

We asked Wiebe some thoughtful questions.

Wiebe, how did you discover your passion for data?
During my studies, I enjoyed the data science courses the most. After graduating, I pursued a career in data.

Why did you specifically choose Plainsight?

During my interviews, they mentioned that their goal wasn’t to be the biggest firm in the sector but rather a smaller company that excels in what they do. I really liked that mindset. Another reason for my decision was that I already knew many colleagues working at Plainsight, which made the transition even easier.

What was your first month at Plainsight like?

My first day was a standard onboarding day—I received my laptop and had time to set it up. They mentioned that a small project was already lined up for me to start on the following day. I spent the rest of the month working on that project.

At the end of my first month, I moved on to a new project for a client in Eindhoven. Interestingly, my first day with that client coincided with a team-building day. The entire team gathered in Eindhoven, and after the workday, we went karting.

Throughout my first month, there were also several after-work activities. One evening, we had a session in Mechelen that started with pizza, followed by a colleague giving a short talk on best practices in data modeling. Later, we headed to Burney’s for some bowling.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?

If I could have any superpower I would choose teleportation.
The possibilities would be endless!

If I could teleport, travelling would be much cheaper and easier. I can go anywhere in the world in a second. During the week, going to work would be a lot easier as you don’t have to sit for one hour in traffic jams. Last but not least, I can live anywhere in the world. I could live in the most beautiful place and still work for Plainsight in Belgium.

Anxious to know what Plainsight could mean for you?
