Meet Femke

Femke is a dedicated Data Analyst with over two years of consultancy experience and certification as a Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst. With a strong passion for data visualization and a background in Front End Development and UI/UX design, she creates visually compelling and aesthetically pleasing reports. Femke is also passionate about learning and is always looking for ways to strengthen her skills. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, drawing, and reading.

We asked Femke some thoughtful questions.

Femke, how did you discover your passion for data?
Even though I started on a different path, I quickly found my way to data. It was always close to me, as someone important in my life works in data and is very passionate about it. When I realized that front end development wasnโ€™t entirely my cup of tea, I thought long and hard and decided to make the jump to Power BI development. This opened a whole new world for me where I had (and still have) a lot to learn and can combine my passion for UI/UX with development.

Why did you specifically choose Plainsight?

My first impression of Plainsight was that it is a close group of driven, enthusiastic people. Combined with the focus on personal and professional development and a supportive atmosphere, it creates an amazing work environment. It didnโ€™t take me long to decide that I wanted to be part of the Plainsight story.

What was your first month at Plainsight like?

When I started working for Plainsight, I immediately dove into my first project. It was definitely exciting and a little bit scary at first, but the project has been a fantastic experience, allowing me to learn a lot in a short time. Meeting my new colleagues was great, and I felt very welcomed into the team. I was also pleasantly surprised by the Plainsight teamโ€™s commitment of going the extra mile and organizing team events. I definitely look forward to what the next few months will bring.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

If I could travel anywhere in the world, I would really love to go to Japan. The country has always intrigued me with its unique culture (including the cuisine) and interesting history. Iโ€™d love to learn more about it. Besides that, I simply think it is a country with beautiful nature and cities. However, I will have to overcome my slight fear of flying!

Fun fact: Did you know that in Japan, it is customary to buy souvenirs for your colleagues when you travel somewhere as a way of thanking them for picking up your workload?

Anxious to know what Plainsight could mean for you?
