We asked Karim some thoughtful questions.

Karim, how did you discover your passion for data?

From a young age, I was interested in IT and technology, and I was convinced I would later work in that field, even though I did not exactly know what profession. During my studies at university, I got to pick an optional course on the subject of machine learning. This course then led me to focus on the domain of data, and I became passionate about it. Every professional decision I then made was to advance in the field of data. Today, I am even more passionate about data as I have seen how important it is for every company and society as a whole. I therefore constantly invest time in learning the latest technologies and obtaining certifications.

Why did you specifically choose Plainsight?

My decision to work for Plainsight was fairly easy. Everyone who looks at our team will be impressed with how passionate our colleagues are about data. For me, working at Plainsight feels like I am constantly at a data conference; our colleagues are so driven and passionate about their work. Next to that, I find it impressive how much attention is given to learning and personal development.

What was your first month at Plainsight like?

My first month at Plainsight went very well. It is impressive how it felt like I had already been working at Plainsight before. Before even starting my first day, I was invited to have an informal chat, during which I received my work material so that I would be fully prepared. I then very quickly started my project at the client.

What’s your go-to productivity hack or time management tip?

My go-to productivity hack would be the automation-first mindset. Whenever I have a repetitive task, I evaluate whether there is a better and faster way to do it. At the same time, it is an excellent excuse for me to discover innovative technologies. Through this, I have learned to use technologies such as Power Automate (cloud and desktop), as well as scripting languages like PowerShell and AutoHotkey.

Anxious to know what Plainsight could mean for you?
